Old Footage from 2004 of some friends in college doing some rather dangerous inventing involving free floating fire... All this balloon/kongming consisted of was a garbage bag stretched out with a heat gun, a tin foil cup then pinned to the bag, and a small ball of cloth soaked in kerosene. The lip of the balloon was protected and formed by tiny wrappings of copper wire. One would fill the bag with hot air using the heat gun, then light the cloth ball to keep it afloat. We tied a long string to the foil so the contraption wouldn't get away and burn the city down... You can probably see that this was a beta test!
